Last Wednesday, after months of hearing about The Secret (poking around the site, but not willing to spend the $4.95 to find out what it was), I ran across a free link to the video. I sat watching it for 90 minutes, riveted. The weird thing? The actual "Secret", which is the Law of Attraction, is not an amazing new idea. However, the explanations of how this law has, can and will continue to affect my life personally- and that it is all in my control, were sort of an awakening moment.
It is true that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.
I watched The Secret video again Friday, and again Saturday morning. I took copious amounts of notes, as well as stock of my life. I have woken up each night thinking about it and how to apply it. I was ready to hear it. I have seen its power at work even though I didn't know what it was. It is the reason my life has been turned upside down and rebuilt the way I want it this year. I have attracted this all to myself.
Law of Attraction
In its most simple explanation, the Law of Attraction states that thoughts become things. Everything that is happening to us is a result of the images we are holding in our minds. We become what we think about most.
Thoughts have frequencies. They can be measured. They are magnetic energy going out. We always attract what we think about- either in what we want or don't want. What we think about, we bring about. Our lives are a physical manifestation of the thoughts that go on in our heads.
Thoughts manifest; focusing with passion makes them happen even more quickly. Our minds shape our perception of things. We should learn not to reject what we don't understand. Also we do not need to be frightened once we realize this.
Affirmative thoughts are hundreds of times more powerful than negative ones. Also, there is a time buffer between out thoughts and when they manifest. We can literally make another choice.
We are the Michelangelo of our own lives.
Many people do not realize they are choosing, and end up choosing be default. Now that we know, we need to choose carefully what we think about, and learn to have more fun with our thoughts. We are the ones who are sculpting our own lives.
How can we possibly control all our thoughts? Thoughts cause feelings, and our feelings show our thoughts. They are a guide to see if we are on the right track. When our wants and lives are in alignment, we are happy and feel good about things. Our feelings are a perfect reflection of what we are going to be getting in the future if we continue doing the same things.
For example, when we start our day off badly (stubbed toe, late, spilled coffee, etc.) if we do not stop to change our thoughts, things will continue out of alignment. However, when our day starts off great, it will continue going that way if we don't let anything change our state of mind, because our positive minds will then attract more good things to us throughout the day.
Simply shifting our emotions can change our day, and our lives. Whatever our predominant feelings are, we'll get more of. Our thoughts create our lives. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.
The universe will manifest our thoughts and feelings. We literally can create our lives as we go along; when we feel good, we attract more good to ourselves. This is the Law of Attraction.

I've encountered this principle before in a Napoleon Hill book, Think and Grow Rich. I firmly believe that by focusing our thoughts we are much more likely to make something happen. With that said there is a certain amount of randomness that we have to deal with. You can dream and even believe that you're going to win the lottery unfortunately this isn't something that is just going to happen.
Controlling your emotions in order to keep yourself as grounded, productive and happy is something that we can do quite easily. I also think it applies to how successful we are at the tasks we undertake.
Great post.
